Land your first remote closing gig on Insta
Today, I'm going to explain how to find quality remote closing clients using Instagram.
Today, I'm going to explain how to find quality remote closing clients using Instagram.
Using this method, you can find ideal sales clients, making it very realistic to earn £5-10K a month from anywhere.
Unfortunately, many people struggle to find closing roles because they don’t know how to navigate this unique online job market and treat their search like trying to find a corporate sales job.
Don’t worry; if you know what you are doing, you can find an abundance of opportunities on a social media platform you are probably very familiar with.
Let’s dive in:
Step 1: Create a new (optimised) Instagram account
You want to create an Instagram account dedicated to remote closing so that you look legitimate when potential clients land on your profile and so you can train the algorithm to send you qualified prospects for free (more on this later).
I won’t go into too much detail on this, as it could be a whole article in itself, but at a high level, you should do these things:
1.1 Create a name that includes what you do – e.g. “(Your Name) | Remote Closer” – so that it is clear to Instagram and potential clients what it is you do.
1.2 Create a bio that resonates with your dream clients – e.g. state who you help on the first line, some sales figures on the second line, and a call to action on the third line.
1.3 Create 9-12 posts about remote closing – so your profile doesn’t look blank and shows that you know what you are talking about.

Step 2: Build a database of dream clients
I like to create this list using a Google Sheet like this, and my favourite ways to find these people on Instagram are:
2.1 Manual search
Search for and follow top accounts in your niche (e.g. fitness, SMMA, eCommerce, etc.).
For example, if you're targeting marketing coaches, you can type in “marketing coach” and then a whole bunch of accounts that fit that criteria will appear.
2.2 Similar accounts
A manual search will only give you so many profiles, which won’t be enough to build out a substantial prospect list.
Once you’ve identified some key accounts related to your niche, it’s time to go down the rabbit hole. You can click the person icon with a plus next to it to see similar accounts.
As the algorithm will have categorised their account, you should find loads of other similar accounts that also have high-ticket offerings which you could close for.
2.3 Targeted ads
Social media platforms serve ads to people based on what they think you are interested in buying.
As you’ve been searching for nothing but businesses/personal brands in your chosen niche from your dedicated remote closing account, the Instagram algorithm will think you are an ideal prospect for these businesses and will show you loads of ads from quality potential clients.
When looking for clients, not all are made equal. You want people with a large organic presence, who run ads, have an offer where you book calls, have good customer reviews, and have a strong personal brand.
If they don’t have most of these things, it will be hard for you to sell enough of their offering to make good money.
Go through your list and vet them based on these criteria. Keep the ones that are a good fit on one tab and move those that don’t fit the criteria to another B-List tab in your Google Sheet.
You never know, you might need these guys later if things don’t pan out how you want them to.

Step 3: Engage with your database
Engaging with your potential clients is not just good for training the algorithm; it is also great for getting on your potential client's radar.
You will be seen by them, and other people who follow them, who could also be good potential clients.
If you like and comment on their posts and stories over time, the chances are they will recognise you and be more open to you when you DM them.
Compliments on their posts (use sparingly), expanding on points with your own opinion, and asking questions about the post are good ways to comment.
If they are in the market for salespeople, they might also message you inquiring about your services.

DM from an agency owner.
If they don’t do that, at least your message will likely land in the primary inbox and not their spam messages.
Step 4: Reach out to your prospects
Now that you’re on plenty of your list's radar, it's time to reach out with some DMs.
I recommend keeping this short with a bit of personalisation so the prospect doesn’t think you are just spamming everyone with the same message.
For example:
“Hi (name), I was searching Instagram for (niche) coaches and came across your (name of offering).
I noticed you take sales calls. I have (experience). Are you looking for anyone to join your sales team atm?”
Results might not happen overnight, but if you send out enough of these messages to people you’ve been engaging with, you will get opportunities.
Step 5: Arrange discovery calls
When someone responds and says that they are open to hiring closers or appointment setters, it’s time to close them on an interview.
I like to frame these interactions as discovery calls to see if you are a good fit for each other, as this method allows you to show off your sales skills.
You can learn about their current situation versus their desired situation and position your remote closing services as the ideal solution rather than getting grilled with interview questions.
Remember, this market is crying out for good salespeople. There are so many people in the space with very little experience. If you have worked a B2B sales job and are half decent, you will land a role easily.
To wrap up…
By implementing these methods, you'll be able to find plenty of remote closing clients on Instagram. You want to treat finding a remote closing gig like prospecting for new business, not like looking for a corporate sales job.
If you need help with this, I am working on a program to help sales pros land their first remote closing role.
Once I finish the beta version, I will be looking for 5 or so people to try it for free in exchange for feedback and a video testimonial if you rate it.
If this is something you’d like to get involved in, let me know by replying to this email or by messaging me on Instagram.
