How to create a compelling LinkedIn profile to attract dream clients
Today, I want to show you how to build the most compelling LinkedIn profile possible.
Today, I want to show you how to build the most compelling LinkedIn profile possible.
LinkedIn is a widely used platform by professionals, including online business owners offering agency services, coaching, or consulting – precisely the type of people you want to close for.
Unfortunately, most people’s LinkedIn profiles fail to get their attention because:
They have irrelevant profile banners
Their taglines focus solely on their job
Their profile pictures don’t look professional
The About section reads more like a CV
They don't include any calls to action
But don’t worry. In this post, you’ll learn how to transform your LinkedIn profile into a client-attracting powerhouse. Here’s how step-by-step:
Your banner is prime real estate on your LinkedIn profile. It's the first thing visitors see, so make it count.
Instead of a holiday pic, work pic or cityscape, choose an image that clearly communicates your niche expertise, who you are, what you do, and who you do it for. You can make one of these easily using Canva.
Consider including social proof/credibility builders like sales figures or a short testimonial.

Step 2: Profile picture
Your profile pic is crucial for making a good first impression. Aim to look for professional, credible, and trustworthy.
Find someone to take a nice photo of your head and shoulders or use a tripod. Consider editing it a little or even using Canva to enhance it by adding a coloured background.

Step 3: Tagline
Your tagline tells people why they should connect with you. Don't have this as your job.
Keep it simple and effective by using formulas like "I help (who) (do what) (how)" or "(expertise) for (who)”
Here are two examples:
“I help marketing agencies close their inbound leads using a proven two-call closing process”.
Or
“Remote Closer for Marketing Agencies”.
Step 4: Featured section
This is an opportunity to guide people to something you own, like your website or booking a discovery call.

Step 5: About section
Position yourself as the solution to your prospect's problem. I like to use the BrandScript framework from My Story Brand by Donald Miller.
It's a story that sells. There's a main character (the prospect) who wants something but faces problems. They meet a guide (you) who gives them a plan to succeed, which helps them avoid failure and reach their goals.
I recommend reading the book, but if you are short on time, you can populate this template:

Summary
To wrap up, optimise these parts of your profile, and you’ll find it much easier to catch your dream client's attention and get them to connect with you.
From there, you can start a conversation and potentially work together.
All the best, and as always, if you have any questions, reply to this email.
